JP Garnier
Jean Pierre Garnier is the CEO of GlaxoSmithKline PLC, the world's second largest pharmaceutical.Jean Pierre (or JP as he prefers to be called) has created something of a cult of personality with GSK, with a number of branded corporate events after himself, such as JP Days (a holiday granted to staff if the company performs well).
JP became the CEO during the merger of GlaxoWellcome and SmithKline Beecham and has enjoyed a rocky relationship with the media and investors as a result of his large salary and bonus demands, and the fact that he is located in Philadelphia, instead of at the company's London HQ.
JP is due to retire in the May of 2008.
