MediaSurface is a UK based technology company that produces a content management system called Morello.The content management system, although widely used by a number of local governments, has been criticised for not staying up to date with the latest technology.
When compared to other CMS systems such as Interwoven and Documentum, MediaSurface lacks support for an Ajax interface, and its desktop application has more in common with an HTML editor than a CMS, and draws comparisons with Macromedia Dreamweaver.
In 2006 the company was blacklisted for sending out spam to a number of key opinion leaders in an attempt to raise awareness for the upcoming release of its Morello system.
In 2007 the company reported a significant drop in profits from failure of uptake.
In early 2008 Mediasurface shareprice feel to an all time low of 4p from a high of 25p in mid 2007. Rumours persist that unless the company can expand its customer base and improve on its core product delivery, it will not be able to find additional funding.
