Prince2

The Prince2 project management methodology was developed by the British Government, and is maintain by the APM.

Prince2 (PRojects In a Controlled Environment) seeks to establish a common framework for project management. It uses a number of states, such as Initation, Controlling and Workpackages to apply a generic structure to most projects.

It takes into account that within an organization a number of key stakeholders may not be using Prince2, but will need to implement generic standards for reporting and feedbacking issues.

The latest edition of Prince2 was released in 2005, a new Prince2 edition is expected to be released in 2009.
