GlaxoSmithKline is one of the worlds largest companies. It is located in the United Kingdom, with offices and operations in over 43 other companies. In the United States it has two East coast operations, one located in Philadelphia, the second in North Carolina.
Products
The company has produced a number of blockbuster products over the years, such as Zantac, Epivir and Tagamet.
The company also has a moderately strong consumer products portfolio, in the UK it markets two soft drinks called Ribena and Lucozade.
History
GlaxoSmithKline was formed by the merger of Smithkline Beecham and GlaxoWellcome in late 2000. The new company was forced to sell off a number of key patents due to an illegally high market share in certain therapy areas.
