Bleeding during Pregnancy
Bleeding during pregnancy tends to be very common, with 1 in 5 women experiencing it.Most bleeding will occur early on in the pregnancy, usually around the 6th or 7th week. During this time a woman may experience light spotting.
This is believed to be the result of the time that the woman would normally have had her period. However since she is pregnant the entire lining of the uterus is not shed.
In all cases, a woman should contact her care worker to ensure that the bleeding is not serious, as it may be a sign of miscarriage.
