Maldives
The Maldives are a group of approximately a thousand islands located in Indian ocean to the south of Sri Lanka.The country is almost 100% muslim but has become a major tourist destination in recent years.
The capital city of Male is one of the densly populated cities in the world, over two hundred thousand people living in a square mile. It is also the major point of arrival as it has an international airport (which is technically on another island).
In 2004 the country was badly affected by the Tsunami, and a number of resorts were badly damaged, and some destroyed.
