Mary McCullagh
Mary McCullagh was a UK based therapist who was convicted in 2006 of "brainwashing" an alcoholic patient of hers and obtaining over £200,000 by deception.The incident which called to light the lack of regulation of therapists was reported in several news and media outlets.
After the trial it also came to light that McCullagh had a number of previous fraud convictions, including being jailed in 1981 for a month.
