Egeli Rasta

Egeli Rasta was a 27 year old woman originally from Estonia, who had been living in the UK for two years.

She was last seen leaving her flat in Clay Avenue, Mitcham, south-west London, on 4 July, when it is thought she was going for a jog.

Detectives revealed that before she vanished she had arranged to meet a friend at Gatwick airport on 5 July, but did not turn up.

She also failed to attend an appointment with a temping agency on 6 July.

When police examined her flat they discovered that the only thing missing was a pair of running trainers; passports and money remained there.

A man who Ms Rasta had been seeing is not being treated as a suspect.

On the 17th July 2006 her body was found on Mitcham common.

It is worth noting that Mitcham is near to Croydon, where Sally Anne Bowman was murdered.

The Suspect

Garath Davies , 23, from Mitcham, was found guilty of her murder in November and will serve a minimum 23 years.

Davies, from Mitcham, south London, and originally from Llanelli, had denied murder and perverting the course of justice
