Sayara Beg
Sayara Beg has been writing a regular column on the BBC news website. She is a 37 year old IT contractor. The main focus of the column is the fact that Sayara is deeply in debt and struggles to meet the payments. Added to this is the fact that she is pregnant and expecting in the next month or so.The column has come under heavy criticism, since despite the fact that Sayara is heavily in debt she owns a number of properties and her husband owns a restaurant. Rather than consider selling one of these in order to reduce her debt burden she seems intent on trying to "Have her cake and eat it".
The result of this is that she is caught in limbo where her debtors continue to close in around her and she is not prepared to liquidate any of her assets.
